The Best Chocolate Frosting!
This is my husband's favorite chocolate frosting! It is luscious and smooth.
3 cups of confectioner's sugar
3/4 cups of unsweetened cocoa
1 stick of softened unsalted butter
3 to 4 tablespoons heavy or whipping cream - I use whatever I have handy
1 teaspoon of vanilla
Sift the sugar and cocoa together into a large bowl. In another bowl, combine 1 cup of the sugar mixture with the butter and 1 tablespoon of the cream, beating until smooth. Add another cup of sugar and another tablespoon of cream, beating well. Continue until all ingredients are combined and frosting is fluffy. Beat in vanilla.
This is a recipe I play with. If I want it a little stiffer, I would add a little more sugar; if too stiff, add a little more cream. You will be able to see it and play with it.
